This page explains what each system is for, when it matters, and what you should do next during the first run. If you are unsure, follow the First Journey checklist and only open deeper Cultivation tabs when the objective asks for them.
First Journey: What To Do First
- Strike the gong. Each strike gathers Qi. Your first clear target is 40 manual Qi.
- Complete Meditation Trial. Time 2 steady breaths to unlock your first automatic Qi flow.
- Open Cultivation, then Cultivation Arts. Train Still Mind Breathing or Iron Body Meridian Forms to make future Qi faster.
- Fight once combat unlocks. Combat gives Qi and progression toward later Cultivation tabs.
- Defeat your Realm Guardian. It drops the Realm Essence required before you can start the next tribulation.
- Pick a Dao path after the first breakthrough. The choice appears directly below the gong and marks the gong with your Dao seal.
Rule of thumb: open the Old Gong Spirit beside the gong when you need the current objective, realm chapter, warnings, or mentor revelations.
New minigames show a short lesson before their timer starts, and the small ? button opens it again.
The Nine Stages of Immortality
Core progression now follows nine Xianxia transformation stages: Qi Gathering, True Master, Battle King, Inborn, Spirit Sovereign, True Monarch, Spirit Venerable, Profound Saint, and Tribulation Immortal. Each realm gate needs its Realm Essence and increasingly asks for deeper Dao comprehension, Alchemy, artifacts, and Sect preparation.
- Qi Gathering: open the Heart, Eye, Nose, Ear, and Mouth apertures through Gong resonance, Cultivation Arts, combat pressure, and the Realm Guardian. Crossing the Dragon Gate transforms mortal breath into True Qi.
- True Master: shape the eight Dragon Dantians, fill the True Qi reserve, release the 10/20/30/40 reserve seals, choose Dao, scout routes, and found the Sect.
- Battle King: awaken Star Bright, Moon Yin, Yang Flame, and Void King as four active meridian bursts, then attune automation once all four stabilize.
- Inborn to True Monarch: stabilize Void Core, Golden Core, Spirit Lake, alchemy, and artifact growth.
- Venerable to Immortal: domain, world-law, and life-star themes become the long-term endgame ladder.
- Inner realm systems: each stage now has a Cultivation > Realm meter with its own sources and effect, so normal play deepens the current transformation.
- Realm Tempering: each stage has a short inner tempering in Cultivation > Realm. This is personal mastery, not a Heavenly Tribulation. Its full specialty awakens once the body's seal holds.
- Realm Techniques: after the first Dragon Gate, the action dock gains a short active technique for the current realm, such as Dragon Dantian Burst, Meridian Surge, Domain, or Life Star Ignition.
- Realm Milestones: Cultivation > Realm breaks the current transformation into inner gates: apertures, True Qi seals, meridians, bones, Heaven layers, Avatar, Domain, World Law, and Life Star steps.
- True Qi burst: after the first Dragon Gate, Cultivation > Realm adds a True Qi card and the top belt reveals True Qi. Compress Qi into the reserve, then start Dragon Tail Burst and release 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40% before the timer ends.
- Four Meridians: at Battle King, Cultivation > Realm adds a meridian card. Each channel has its own role: Star Bright sharpens combat, Moon Yin protects, Yang Flame boosts active Qi, and Void King improves Gate and route windows.
- Dantian Reservoir: passive Qi flow now settles into an offline storage vessel while you are away. Dantian Visualization, realm progress, and completed milestones expand its capacity and storage window.
- Spiritual Organs: after the first Dragon Gate, Sanjiao links Dantian, meridians, and breath while the Heart Protector shields the Dao Heart from karmic impurity and Inner Demons.
- Void Core: during Inborn, Cultivation > Realm adds Void Core / Nine Immortal Bones. Quench bones, keep stability high, and use Serenity pills or time arrays to shorten the Watermill process.
- Sword Flight: during Inborn, practice Controlling Sword Flight in Cultivation > Realm. Mastery shortens expedition travel and unlocks the Cloud Sword Pass resource node at 30/100 mastery.
- Golden Core / Spirit Lake: at Spirit Sovereign, refine the ten Heaven Layers. At True Monarch, nourish the Spirit Lake and Lotus to strengthen Armament Essence, alchemy, Avatars, and artifacts.
- Nascent Soul Avatars: at True Monarch, the Spirit Lake projects avatars into cultivation, Sect work, expeditions, or alchemy while the main body keeps meditating.
- Pocket Domain: at Spirit Venerable, True Illusions condense Domain Clarity. Build Cave Heart, Illusion Garden, Route Gate, and Market Mirage constructs to turn controlled reality into cultivation, garden, route, and alchemy economy.
- True Illusion Patterns: after stabilizing the Pocket Domain, choose what the next manifestation should become: Qi Mirage for raw Qi, Garden Dream for herbs, Route Phantom for timer cuts, or Market Echo for condensed/artifact/law traces.
- World Principles: at Profound Saint, focus Burning, Flow, or Return. Each principle advances through Contact, Adaptation, and Assimilation, then unlocks Law Edicts that sacrifice lower resources to bend combat, waits, recovery, or stability.
- Late Realm currencies: True Monarch begins Armament Essence, Spirit Venerable adds Domain Clarity, Profound Saint unlocks World Law Understanding, and Tribulation Immortal gathers Tribulation Life Force.
- Tribulation Bone: at Tribulation Immortal, endure the thousand-day tribulation until mortal life force is replaced. Once formed, the bone becomes a space-key for Void Rifts.
- Void Dominion: after the Tribulation Bone forms, repeated discoveries in Shattered World, Herb Moon, or Silent Law Sea can be claimed as cosmic footholds, dominions, and annexed stars.
- Realm status & lifespan: Cultivation > Realm shows each realm's social rank, expected lifespan, and current cultivation paradigm.

Cultivation Arts: Body and Breath
Qi Circulation Arts improve breathing cycles, passive flow, and Dao-Heart stability. Body Tempering Arts strengthen meridians, Gong resonance, and combat force. Advanced arts require Condensed Qi because raw spiritual breath cannot hold their patterns.
- Still Mind Breathing: the first Qi Circulation Art and autonomous breathing cycle. It awakens through Meditation.
- Iron Body Meridian Forms: a Body Tempering Art for Gong resonance and combat force.
- Dantian Visualization: a Qi Circulation Art that multiplies all Qi gain once your foundation grows.
- Heart-Mind Guard Practice: a Dao-Heart art against karmic impurity, Inner Demons, and tribulation backlash.
- Jade Condensation Practice: slowly folds surplus raw Qi into stable Condensed Qi.
Combat: Why You Fight
Fighting is not just a battle minigame. It is the bridge from simple clicking into deeper cultivation loops. Winning fights rewards Qi, advances objectives, and opens the path toward breakthrough preparation. Herbs come from Sect-led Expeditions first and passive Garden disciples later, so alchemy has a clear preparation loop.
- Enemy HP bar: drops when you Strike or use combat skills.
- Your Meridian Integrity bar: if it reaches 0, the fight is lost, some Qi escapes, and Qi gathering is sealed.
- Fight routes: Fight is normal tempering. A Realm Guardian tests whether your foundation fits the next realm and grants Realm Essence plus a sealed artifact choice. Demon Beasts are optional sources of volatile temporary essence.
- Strike timing: the strike marker moves across a timing bar. Left-side releases can miss, center/right releases deal normal damage, and the golden right edge gives the strongest hit and better crit chance. If you react quickly, you can sometimes land a second hit while the marker is still in the strong zone.
- Enemy Attack: the red telegraph bar shows when the next enemy hit is about to land.
- Damage numbers: gold numbers are your damage, green numbers are poison damage, and red numbers are Meridian Integrity damage taken.
- Affixes: Ironhide blocks every third hit, Swiftstep evades after attacking, Berserker enrages at low health, Vampiric heals from damage, and Warded weakens crit bursts.
- Realm Guardian briefing: before a realm-gate fight, the Beast card explains the boss, pattern, reward, and required Essence gate.
- Portrait inspection: click a Realm Guardian portrait to inspect its omen, pattern, Realm Essence, and artifact cache.
- Realm Guardian patterns: each realm gate has its own large trial panel, such as strike chains, Dao skill checks, or hybrid sequences. Clear it before the timer ends to expose the beast.
- Element Counter: advanced enemies can reveal a five-element meridian guard. Tap three correct counter elements to weaken their meridians; the target can shift after every successful counter. Wrong or late counters cost one third of your Meridian Integrity. Water beats Fire, Earth beats Water, Wood beats Earth, Metal beats Wood, and Fire beats Metal.
- Demon buffs: Demon Beast wins grant short boosts like stronger Qi/click, combat power, Qi/sec, Meridian Integrity, or Heavenly Gate strike power.
- Stabilize Breath: appears during combat after taking damage. The golden center heals strongly, the edge of the zone heals lightly, and misses restore nothing.
- Combat pills: Mending, Clarity, Essence, and Stillness pills appear directly in the combat panel when available. They do not need to be equipped first.
- Wounded Meridian: after collapsing, brew the emergency Healing Pill below the gong. Only golden-zone timing condenses the pill, and 100% fully restores Meridian Integrity and Qi flow.
- Meridian scars: harder defeats can leave temporary penalties. Mending Meridian Pills remove one active scar before healing.
- Combat power: comes from Body Tempering, realm growth, Dao comprehension, and artifacts.
- Skills: appear in the direct combat panel below the gong when unlocked.
- Rewards: normal fights temper your circulation. Realm Guardians grant Realm Essence and sealed artifact choices. Demon Beasts grant temporary absorbed-essence buffs.
Minigames: What To Do And Why
Every first-time minigame now pauses for an Old Gong Spirit lesson before the timer starts. Use the small ? button in an active panel to reopen that lesson.
Alchemy: Herbs and Pills
Spirit herbs carry aspects of Heaven-and-Earth Qi. Sect disciples recover the first specimens, then cultivate them in the Spirit Garden. Condensed Qi binds their medicinal nature inside the cauldron; Pill Dao cultivators gain additional insight from this transformation.
Sect Grounds: Disciples and Spirit Herbs
Your Sect is the lineage; the Meditation Hall, outer court, Guardian Gate, Treasury, and Spirit Garden are its grounds. Send disciples to recover the first herbs, then staff the Spirit Garden for a steady supply. The Spirit Garden Pavilion improves output and expands the herb mix.
Karmic Impurity and the Inner Demon
Karmic Impurity awakens after the first breakthrough. It is not ordinary poison: it is residue left when power, pills, violence, or ambition outrun comprehension. As it clouds the Dao Heart, circulation becomes unstable and an Inner Demon can turn doubt into a real trial.
- How it rises: after the first Gate, risky combat exchanges add meridian strain, perfect strikes add the least, misses add much more, and failed alchemy, defeats, risky expeditions, or failed Gate strikes can spike it quickly.
- Pressure tiers: Clean is safe, Unstable is a warning, Tainted starts weakening Qi and alchemy, Demon Pressure makes combat and breakthrough riskier, and Manifesting can force an Inner Demon trial.
- What it weakens: higher tiers reduce Qi/sec, Qi/tap, alchemy success, combat safety, timing-window width, and breakthrough stability. The top resource chip shows the current tier.
- Timing pressure: corrupted meridians narrow golden center zones in Condense Qi, healing, alchemy, meditation, and Inner Demon checks. Combat strike thresholds also drift farther right.
- Inner Demon timing: recite the sutra when the mind pearl crosses the golden center. Perfect timing restores the most Mind Stability; misses crack stability and raise corruption.
- Demon Marks: failing an Inner Demon trial now leaves a temporary Demon Mark. Marks weaken production, alchemy, damage control, and tribulation stability until they fade or are reduced by a later success.
- Scars: failed breakthroughs and dangerous beast routes can leave temporary meridian scars. Scars reduce Qi gain, combat power, max Meridian Integrity, or tribulation stability until time passes or a Mending Pill removes one.
- How it falls: it decays slowly over time, safe combat victories only calm a little, Clarity Pills cleanse directly, and Heartguard or Clear Heart talents reduce future gain.
- Practical rule: the first Gate ignores Karmic Impurity entirely. Later breakthroughs require Karmic Impurity below 25%, so cleanse or slow down before pushing the next realm.
Breakthrough and Tribulation
A breakthrough is your attempt to cross a realm bottleneck. Heaven resists those who escape mortal limits, so lightning and Heavenly Pressure descend as a Tribulation. Keep Stability above 0, break the pressure, and strike the Heavenly Gate during each Opening. The matching Realm Guardian must first acknowledge your foundation with Realm Essence. The first Gate is calibrated to be beatable before Clarity Pills and before Karmic Impurity exists; later Gates expect stronger preparation.
- Realm Essence: proof that the current Realm Guardian has acknowledged your foundation. Once claimed, it is not lost on failed tribulations.
- Qi cost: breakthrough Qi requirements are now about one third lower, so the main gate is preparation and execution instead of long waiting.
- Stability bar: your survival meter. If it reaches 0, the breakthrough fails.
- Breakthrough Progress: reaches 100% when the realm breakthrough succeeds.
- Heavenly Pressure: the active pressure meter. While it is above 0, Stability drains and Strike is locked.
- Resist Pressure: tap quickly to push Heavenly Pressure down. At 0, the Gate opens.
- First Gate: your first breakthrough starts with lower Pressure, more Stability, and a longer Opening so it is demanding but possible without pills.
- Karmic Impurity gate: Karmic Impurity begins after the first breakthrough. Later breakthroughs require Karmic Impurity below 25% before the trial can start.
- Opening: a short strike window. Use Strike Heavenly Gate before it closes.
- Strike Heavenly Gate: gains Breakthrough progress, but only during an Opening.
- Clouds Gather: standard pressure cycle. Break Pressure cleanly.
- Heavenly Strike: harsher pressure. You must resist faster or Stability collapses.
- Stillness Window: pressure breaks easier and Gate strikes are stronger.
- Final Thunder: pressure cycles return quickly. Alternate Resist and Strike decisively.
- Clarity Pill: emergency stabilizer. It consumes one pill, restores Stability, lowers Heavenly Pressure, and may open the Gate if Pressure reaches 0.
- Failure: a failed breakthrough can add corruption, Qi loss, and a temporary Dao Heart scar.
- Preparation: Heartguard, Formation-like effects, and pills make the attempt safer. After the first Gate, at least one breakthrough pill is required so alchemy remains part of realm progression.
- Reward: heavenly lightning tempers the body, burns away Karmic Impurity, and opens the next realm.
Dao Paths: Choosing A Build
After the first tribulation, choose your Dao directly in the action row under the gong. Your selected Dao seal then appears on the gong, and the Dao tab shows your class resource.

Expeditions, Artifacts, Root Insight, Samsara
Later systems shape a cultivation lineage. Expeditions return sealed caches, artifacts alter the current life, talents spend Root Insight, and entering Samsara carries understanding into the next incarnation.
- Expeditions: send your cultivator into the world for rewards and events. The timer under the Gong shows route progress, but the expedition runs in the background so you can still fight, cultivate, and use menus.
- Automation: after founding the Sect, assign Expedition disciples and choose an automatic route. More assigned disciples shorten its duration.
- Sect Foundation: after comprehending a Dao, establish a lineage, assign the first outer disciple, and deepen the Sect Cultivation Base.
- Sect Garden: after Sect founding, assign Garden disciples so alchemy has a predictable passive herb loop instead of relying only on expedition luck.
- Artifacts: run-defining treasures from Realm Guardian victories. Their nature stays sealed until selected.
- Artifact sets: related treasures unlock 2-piece and 3-piece resonance bonuses.
- Realm omens: major progress can trigger a meridian vision, Dao oath, Sect bell, or artifact resonance.
- Golden Core interface: Cultivation > Realm gives Spirit Sovereign and True Monarch a dedicated inner-lake card. Refine Heaven Layers first, then feed the Lake and Lotus with Condensed Qi and herbs.
- Armament Essence: once the Spirit Lake forms, spend it to temper artifacts or let selected treasures rest in the lake.
- Pocket Domain constructs: at Spirit Venerable, spend Domain Clarity on Cave Heart for cultivation, Illusion Garden for herbs, Route Gate for expeditions, and Market Mirage for cauldron/artifact control.
- Sword Flight routes: Cloud Sword Pass appears during Inborn. It requires Sword Flight mastery and represents fast travel to high-altitude resource nodes.
- True Illusion Manifestation: Spirit Venerable no longer has only one generic manifestation. Focus Qi Mirage, Garden Dream, Route Phantom, or Market Echo, then use Manifest to convert Domain Clarity into the resource route you currently need.
- World Law: Profound Saint shifts the bottleneck away from raw Qi. Sacrifice Qi, Condensed Qi, and Armament Essence to gather World Law Understanding, then focus Burning, Flow, or Return and assimilate it through Contact, Adaptation, and Assimilation.
- Law Edicts: after a principle reaches Contact, issue Burning Mandate, Flowing Decree, or Returning Oath. Edicts spend lower resources for short windows: stronger combat/manifestation, cut route/cooldown timers, or recover Meridian Integrity while resisting Karmic Impurity.
- Life Star: Tribulation Immortal gathers Tribulation Life Force and spends it with World Law to anchor the Life Star, improving survival and endgame combat pressure.
